Background
Fireboard is a new release of the
recently merged Joomla Board and Fireboard development teams. Artio has yet to release a plugin or patch to make it work so I have
altered the Joomlaboard code to make it work for Fireboard as a new SEF extension file.
The Problem
Unfortunately the makers of JoomSEF haven't had time or any inclination to develop a free plugin to work with the new Forum
component called Fireboard. So, we are faced with unfriendly URL's in our Fireboard Forum!! .. something I hate as a Joomla SEO
expert.
The Solution
Download the extension file below and follow the directions
contained within. This plugin patch is confirmed as working on Joomla 1.0.12 stable, Fireboard 1.0.0 JoomSEF 1.5.0 (get the hacked copy
from my site www.kangainternet.com.au, hacked because I removed the Artio hidden tags!!!). Having said that I believe this patch will
work on Joomla 1.x, JoomSEF 1.x and Fireboard 1.4.x & 1.5.x. Can't hurt to try it on other versions as it doesn't replace any
files.

Plugin
Installation Joomsef must be installed and working then just follow these procedures
1. Extract the
zip file locally
2. upload the extracted contents, "com_fireboard.php" file to your
"<webroot>/components/com_sef/sef_ext" folder.
The plugin is now installed.
